Cannot find Slide Background command because it no longer exists.
Cause:
The 'Slide Background' command under the 'Format' menu no longer exists
Solution:
The 'Slide Background' command under the 'Format' menu has been replaced with the 'Custom Background' command under the 'Format' menu.
NOTE: The 'Custom Background' command applies colors, patterns, fills, or pictures to the slide background.
1) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Custom Background...'. (The Custom Background dialog box appears.)
2) Select the desired color and style from the drop-down list box in the 'Background Fill' group.
Select color and/or style
3) (Optional) Select the 'Omit Background Graphics from Master'.
Select the check box
4) (Optional) Click 'Preview' to view the changes without yet accepting them.
5) Do one of the following:
a) Click 'Apply to All', (to apply the changes to all the slides in the presentation.)
b) Click 'Apply', (to apply the changes to only the current slide.)
c) Click 'Cancel', (to cancel the changes.)
